ok so its windy and kinda wavey...we're ready to roll out...beached with one anchor off the port rear...I decided to swim out and pull it up manually...

then the boat uncbeaches in a wind gust...... and since the shoreline has a steep bank, Im now in 7 ft of water and cant hold the boat from the stern.....so I get the anchor in the boat with the assistance of my lovely niece...well she is no seaman....even though her dad is a Navy SEAL....

so she unknowingly leaves about 10 feet of anchor line in the water...a loop of it....... I didnt realize it either...thinikinig she would automatically know to pull it all in...NOPE! gotta love teenagers :D

I'm now trying to get to the bow area...I get to where I can touch bottom, grab the bow rail and steady her, ok...:)....damage control! didnt hit a rock or nothing...ok lets get outta here! right? WRONG!

so I have the wife start the engine....I am at the bow to one side....I shove off and hop in, she kicks it in gear.....2 seconds later STALL! oops! about 15 wraps around the prop of anchor rope! and its in there good! wedged some between the prop and the drive....so after 10 minutes we get it all unwrapped...and are on our way...no further problems....

ONE MORE LESSON LEARNED! lol make sure the darned anchor line is in and do all the anchor work from the boat not 1/2 drowning trying to swim in the anchor DOH! :D

I thought the water was your friend.:D

Leave it to a seal to figure swimming with an anchor is the way to go.

swimmin' with the anchor in water over your head suxs- not fun at all.
Last time I did it I brought a float cushion with me and it still was hard.
We anchor up at a popular sand bar that does not always have room on the front row beach. my boat is high profile and swings badly back & forth in the wind. The bow is automatic/electric.
I once forgot the rear line and the Bravo3 only had a few wraps on it.
Welcome to the club!
