Fill Cap on stern of boat question

I have a 2001 Hurricane Fundeck. There is an silver cap at the stern of the boat to fill with water. There is also a male end hose connection right above that fill cap. I am wondering what that is for. Thank you.

I'm guessing it is the dockside water hookup. It bypasses the water tank and supplies water directly to your faucet(s).
