Guys this is my second time around in the wife thing. I know that its a meet in the middle type of thing when making decisions. Being a nurse she is pretty authoritive when its comes to my health.<br />Her favorite saying when dicussing issues is remember whats yours is mine and whats mine is mine(not really).<br /><br />For instance when the mention of my going fishn, means to her is shop til I drop time. Knowing some of you may be able to relate to this problem some advice and coaching is needed. <br /><br />JB may bump this to fishn but this really pertains to other activities I enjoy doing(not)...<br />For instance how to get out of shopping,inlaw visiting and other outings that really have nothing to do with a mans interest which sometimes results in couch time..........

50/50 ???<br />50/50 ??????<br /><br />Must be new math.<br />I'm a lifer with the same gal so don't know exactly how to assist BUT,....<br /><br />I have found that:<br /> - GO fishing - Bring Back Jewelry.<br /> - Send her on a trip - Go fishing/Hunting OR<br /> - Mope around the house until she chases you out<br /><br />I'm sure that there are other more sophistcated techniques, BUT these HAVE/DO work for me.<br /><br />Very Happily Married<br /><br />Good Luck<br />HAVE FUN!

My other half and I have a simple sort of <br />50/50 thing going, it has kept her happy for <br />many years. We have 3 kids in school so time<br />for yourself is limited. However, on Tuesdays<br />and thursdays she and her girlfriends get together<br />after supper and do what ever it is that women do.<br /> she tells me they go to bingo, and <br />coffee shops and some times shopping. Saturday &<br />sunday are my fishing days. Some times the kids <br />will come. but for the most part its the "he man<br />woman haters club" time. Myself and a handful of<br />buddies go fishing. We usually depart at 5:30<br />saturday morning and fish till dark and come home.<br />This saturday(tomorrow morning) we will head out<br />to our favorite walleye hole for an overnight ice<br />fishing expedition. Bringing plenty of beer and<br />a little whiskey, the fire pit and a good bunch of<br />moose sausage. Cook up some walleye and burbot.<br />The wife don't mind at all, as she gets her time<br />to relax doing the things she likes to do every<br />week. Everybody's happy especially me.

Well I will have to say that I guess I have got it pretty good as far as the wife thing goes.<br />We both like doing the same thing, out on the pontoon, or out on the bass boat, doing the same thing on both, fishing.<br />She has been a fishing gal since before we got together so it's a match made I guess.<br />We just got through 32 years of marriage and 3 children grown and out of the house and that helps a lot.<br />We had planned on going to Rodman Reservoir this week-end, but found out that it was a bad time cause of the 500 and no rooms available, so booked rooms for next week.<br />Like I said, no complaints here from this guy.

I relate to this subject. My wife treats our boat like the "other woman"...which I guess is understandable. I have to be careful not to let her notice how much attention the "other woman" gets.<br /><br />She doesn't enjoy boating at all (despite all my attempts to change her mind) - but fortunately my daughters do. <br /><br />I make a point of taking a camera along on boat trips and take plenty of pictures of our girls having fun on the water. Those pictures sure come in handy when I'm trying to convince her that it's "time for a boat trip".

Yea I kinda lean toward Nosleep, I don't invite my wife, don't want my wife on the boat. (she wouldn't go anyway) In any case, the boat is my getaway time..... time to hang out with the guys, do a little fishing,cruisin and just generally messin about...................

I'm with you spinner bait nut, I think the best fishin partner I ever had was my wife. Dont mind her coming along at all. She could outfish a lot of the boys any day of the week and a lot easier to look at then them ole redneck fishin buddies. Now as far as my turkey huntin,,,, its the 50-50 on that one. Dont want her any where near. Then its her turn to do the shop till ya drop thing.<br /><br />------------<br />Flathead

Well flathead, thats one thing about us, we neither one ever had the urge to hunt.<br />But now we can fish, whether it be bass, catfish or just catching bluegil, it don't matter as long as we do it together.<br />OK, I'm ready for all the mushy, tear jerking sayings, so let me have it.

I over heard two old fishermen one day and here is what I took in from them. One old man had been fishing there on the bank all day when an old frined came upon him. He asked how he was doing and the old timer says "Doing pretty good for it being my 50th anniversary" His buddy replies "50 Years!? What are doing here fishin?" The old timer goes well our love life just aint' what it used to be, ya know she's got that gonorrhea, bad news there. Thought I would flip her over but she always has diarrhrea. So thought about something oral,, Well ya know she also has that pyorrhea of the mouth. His buddy says to him "Sorry to hear that but it just seems odd for you to be fishin on your anniversary. Old timer says to his friend, "Well the best thing is I love her and she knows it. But the thing I treasure about her most is that SHE HAS WORMS! AND I LIKE TO FISH!
