I bought a used EMM to have as a spare. I got a used one that was 1 year newer and off a 225 instead of a 200hp like mine. I bolted it up to my engine and connected the cable and software expecting I could enter the injector profiles. Instead it told me right from the get go the injectors were the wrong type and would not allow me to change the profile numbers [ that I retrieved from my original EMM prior to removal ] . It did start and run fine however it threw on the NO OIL light and buzzer. Being as I know this is not an issue with the original EMM I can't help but think I'm running into an issue with the EMM having a newer firmware or something that doesn't match the engine components..??? So does anybody have any idea what I need to do to correct this? I am not trying to turn my 200hp into a 225hp I simply want a 'spare' EMM as I travel long distances on a big lake [ Huron ] and I don't like not having spare parts just in case. I do have the complete engine profile saved. There's got to be a way! Any idea's anyone??
