I have a 2001 Evinrude 175 Ficht motor that has had the ECU replaced at the end of last year. I have finally got to give the boat a good runup since last year. MY WOT won't go above 5000. Previously to the ECU replacement I was able to hit about 5700. Nothing else has been changed to my knowledge. The engine runs perfectly and I'm not carrying any unusual amount of weight in the boat. My question is this: Does anyone know if the specs have changed for these motors? Has OMC maybe lowered the max RPM for these motors? Where could I find this out? Thanks for any answers.
