I AM AN OWNER OF FICHT 115 2000 WHICH HAS NOT OPERATED CORRECTLY SINCE PURCHASE OF THIS OUTBOARD IN MAR 2000 AFTER ONLY 28 HRS OF OPERATION IT SUPPOSEDLY BLEW A POWERHEAD,WHICH WAS REPLACED,AT 97 HRS THE SECOND POWER HEAD BLEW UP,WHICH WAS REPLACED. AFTER REPLACEMENTS MOTOR STILL DID NOT OPERATE PROPERLY.MOTOR IS NOW STILL IN REPAIR SHOP FOR TWO MONTHS WITHOUT RESOLUTION OF PROBLEM.ANY ONE OUT THERE WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS OR ANY INFO PLEASE CONTACT ME. :p ;)

Try to do a serch on a serch engine with the words "ficht +problems" you will get thousend of links - these motors are known for BIG problems.<br /><br />Get a 4 stroke - or a non direct injection 2 stroke(eg a Johnson)

I have a 2000 Ficht 75hp v-4 and the thing runs great. Haven't had a stitch of problems with it. I looks as if most of the problems with the Ficht systems were with the V-6's. There have not been too many issues with the v-4's.

G'day. Hey ENN not all direct injection motors fail. Optimax appears to have been preety successfull. Havent heard about many problems with the Yam, then again, havent heard much about the Yam.

Hello Whaley - you are right not all Direct injection OBs have so many problems as the Ficht engines.

Woodrow,<br /><br />Sorry to hear about the problems with your engine. What a disappointment. Maybe you could ask the shop service manger if he can escalate the problem to a national level. You could ask him if there is someone at a high level who could help you get a permanent resolution, or possibly a replacemnt or refund. You might also ask another shop the same question. Some new engines from every manufacture have problems, I think the question here is service. Go to the top, and when you get there, tell them you have 7.5 million people waiting to find out how the treated you.

Is the second powerhead out of warranty? Is the engine proped to turn the rated rpms?
