I will be moving some items around on my center console this winter and I will need to repair small holes in the console made by screws and holes for wiring what is the best way to do this? Also does anyone know of any good fiberglass repair sites on the web.

Re: fiberglass repair

To repair small screw holes I would just put some sellotape behind them then fill with colour matched Gel Coat. Finish off by sanding smooth with finer grades of wet / dry sandpaper down to 1200 grit then polish so all blends in. If the holes are larger you will probably have to back the hole with resin soaked fibreglss mat to give a backing for the Gel Coat to adhere to. Then once the mat has cured fill gradually with Gel Coat until you achieve a good flush finish. Polish using finer and finer grades of wet / dry sandpaper until finishing with automotive polish to achieve a shine. Just a tip when using wet / dry sand paper, add a little washing up liquid to the water as it acts as a lubricant and stops the paper clogging. Obviously without seeing the holes I am guessing, but draw from this what is useful and delet the rest.

Andy

Ckeck out Marine Tex. It is absolutely the best but only comes in white or dark grey.
