Well, The fiberglas repair I did a couple of winters ago finally broke loose. Does anyone have a guestamite on a professional patch job on the bottom of a ski? The break is an "L" shape approx 12" one way and 8" the other.
I bought a pair of these ski's on EBAY a couple of years ago and this one was like this already. Was a pretty good deal though. Re: Fiberglass repair

How did you repair it? How did it fail? Fiberglass repair is kind of like repairing metal. You need to drill small holes at the ends of the cracks to terminate them. Not to worry, they also get filled with resin. Sand 3" either side and beyond the crack with 60 grit paper. Then a min of 3 layers of cloth,4" wide with ample resin on the hull (inside) and each layer of cloth. Each layer of cloth needs to be completely soaked in resin. The outside needs gelcoat for waterproofing.

Re: Fiberglass repair

The one book everyone needs to read is: SAILBOAT HULL AND DECK REPAIR, by Don Casey. Once you read that book you will be able to make a brand hull for your jetski and never think twice about it. :) Another great book, which tells you almost everything in sailboat hull and deck repair is THIS OLD BOAT, also by Don Casey. Those two books everyone needs to have in their nautical library. Don will show you step by step how to fix anything in a plain and simple way.

THIS OLD BOAT, will also go over painting your boat/pwc.

Good luck
