Well everyone the spawn is right around the corner... So I thought I would ask what everyone's favorite spawn tactic is.

Mine is sight fishing with a lizard or a worm, watching for those blood red gills to flare then rippin? their lips off.

What about you?

I assume :)eek:) you are talkin bass. Man I can't fish bass until June! But I have had good success with a power worm on a 1/4 - 3/8 oz jig right up shallow in the early goin.
Good luck when you get out there.:)

I'll stay as far away from beding areas as I can get. I'll fish deep for pre or post spawners. I Dont believe in pulling bass off beds.

I can see your point. but also they return right to their beds when released at the boat... But in tournaments I am not sure... but when a pay check is on the line that is what it will take to win.

Are you saying that $$$ for you is more important than our natural resources???

I'm not trying to rip you, and I understand your point, but from the outside(say a PeTA member:eek:) that looks kinda callous.

I am like FH, I don't fish the beds.
That is too easy and takes away from the sport of bass fishing.
If it ain't a challenge, it ain't worth it.

LOL,, here we go again. If you irritate a bass on a bed long enough it'll lash out and bite the bait. Many years ago before I changed my view on things I would target spawning areas and bedded bass. I never found it to be any kind of challenge at all. Many areas around here have the traditional bedding areas of lakes closed off during the spawn, to keep the bed fishers out.

Funny thing ,, The first guys I hear complain about dwindling numbers of bass are always the catch and keep guys, and the bed fishers.

None the less fishing beds is a very controversial subject. Personanly I would rather err on the side of conservation.
