Favorite Bass Boat and Motor

Just wondering what you all used to get you from the launch site to you favorite fishing spot. I haven't bought a boat yet, but I plan to real soon. Also, what is the best Outboard Motor Manufacturer in your eyes. I always liked the Yamaha V-Max. <br /><br />Mattl

20' pontoon mine is an old starcraft. If I could afford to I would replace my older Johnson with a new Tohatsu as I have run one on my jon boat and have never had any problems out of it as opposed to my johnson I have now and mercury I used to have. I use a toon because i like the extra room and mainly do a lot of catfishing. For the most part I fish alone and finally think I have the perfect boat for me.

BTW I still bass fish out of it and love it you might want to look at one if you have a family or other uses in mind otherwise i would recomend a Ranger. They have a 20 foot model that is set up to handle anything and are a good smooth ride. I have a friend that has one and he loves it. I think it has a mercury on it. Me I like the slow and steady but sometimes we fish together his way and others mine.

well after fishing tournies for many years <br /> out of my ranger and most other boats i've found<br />that over the past number of years that most of the big companies are making great boats, I love my ranger but there are other boats on the market <br />that the weekender can go with for a lot less $$$<br /><br /> my 2 cents<br /> basser

I love my Ranger also. There are many types of bass boats, just pick one that fits your needs. If you plan to keep it long purchase higher quality. Ranger, Skeeter, Triton, are all good boats. Stay away from Bayliner anything. <br /><br />As for motors.... Owned Evinrudes and Yamahas. No problems with either. I have a buddy that swears by his Merc. But I have pulled him to the dock a couple of times.

Triton!!! The Cobalt of bass boats-bar none. My choice would be with an Evinrude (BMCA) Ficht.

RANGER lover for life here!!! By far the best quality built boat. I've alway's liked the Merc's myself, but have not owned anything else except an old Johnson. Alot of good bass boats out there. Also like the Triton's and Stratos's.
