Re: FARIA Tachometers

unless they changed vendors faria was making them for OMC/BRP. I dont like faria products myself. to many problems. but if they work the tachs are usually fairly close.

Re: FARIA Tachometers

Rodbolt, I had a new Teleflex in mine, and Dhadley thought maybe the accuracy may be off slightly because of my Idle reasons (not able to get low enough). I bought a new-old stock OMC, and it says I'm Idling at about 575RPM-Dale said I should have no prob. getting down to 600 with the set-up I have...BUT, when I took off, the tach stuck at 5k, and didn't drop down until I was off plane...plane and simple, the tach is bad somehow.
I have a line of site on a new Faria, but haven't been around them any so I thought I would ask. BTW, my teleflex tach showed about 650-675. X-flow V6 Rude...
Obvious difference between the 2....

Re: FARIA Tachometers

I have had good sucess with teleflex instruments. decent quality for a reasonable cost. that swhy I test each installation with my shop tach. its amazing how far some hull tachs are off. I had to go buy another ferret instruments model 84 tach/timing light today. 160 buks :( . seems a shaft coupler on a jackshafted volvo I was testing on the floor was more hungry than I was careful. the coulper wrapped it up, very rapidly :) :)
I think with a new sensor pick up and a power cord I can fix it though. then I will have 2 :) .
the second attempt I was paying a bit more attention :)
