Just wanted to get everyones thoughts on my Faria tach. Got this boat last year, tach was stuck at 1400 rpm. Got a new tach under partial warranty from Faria. Had been working fine until Friday.
I was running at 3k rpms when I noticed that it suddenly went to about 4k. It was only the tach that increased. The engine did not increase in speed nor did the boat speed. Several times before getting back to the dock the same thing happened.
My thoughts is that the tach is going wacky and that I will have to get it replaced under warranty. I find it stange tho that the rpms increased. My first thoughts were that the coupler was crapping out or the prop was slipping on the hub but I quickly dismissed that.
