This boat, a 1985 Cobia, was equipped with an OMC motor. The motor was stolen along with the remote.
I plan to fit a rebuilt Johnson 150 1993 motor when finished,
The dash has the OMC gauges with exception of the Tach which is Faria. The wires are Blue, Black, Grey, Pink. The blue one is hanging loose, the others are connected as part of a multi core cable which I assume will go to the Remote when fitted. Where does the Blue go.

Blue is usually used to power the backlight of the gauge. Easy way to check is to probe it with a multimeter or test light, turn the navigation lights on first.

Re: Faria tach gauge wiring.

The standard side mount remote control will have a three wire plug below the ignition switch for the the three wire tachometer harness.

Connect the blue lighting wire to one of the other blue lighting wires on a nearby gauge.

The diagrams near the end of the following thread should help: http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/ignitionSwitch.html
