Just purchased a Falcon 18 stripper rig last week. It has an OMC outdrive with a 3.8 engine. Noticed the openings for the water inlet on the outdrive is between two fins going around the outdrive. Not sure where you get a muff that will fit inside these fins. I know most muffs have big rubber cups. Anyone ever owned on of these rigs?

Re: falcon boat

That is not the inlet. Aren't there pick up holes on the side of the drive just above the prop centerline? The lowest horizontal fin on any outdrive will be on the surface at speed and is not a water pick up but a drain.

Re: falcon boat

You may be correct. I just figured out this is probably a OMC sonic 400 or 800 stringer outdrive. According to a parts breakdown I found there is a screen lower down on the outdrive. It supposedly overheated the last time out so I guess I will start there. I've got 3 or 4 months to play with it until spring.
