My brother is purchasing a 211 Proline walkaround. It's a 1997 with approximately 80 hrs on it's engine. Has a/c. .. and looks like it's in very good shape. They are asking around 10K. Does anyone know if this is a good deal? If you have any comments on this particular boat I would appreciate it too.

Thanks.

Re: fair deal on a 22' walkaround?

I own a 2000 Proline 22 walk. I also purchased used. My boat has every option available including a hardtop. I love the boat. I hate the engine (200 HP Mercury carburated). I will eventually repower with a 225Hp engine. I fish the boat regularly in Long Island Sound and offshore NY/Ct waters. The boat needed trim tabs which I installed. The boat does everything I ask of her. I paid $23,000 for the boat.
You say your boat has AC. I can't figure out where they could put AC on this boat. Sounds like a good deal for you. Any specific question that I can answer for you?

We missed the boat. The owner ended it up selling it to his friend who was motivated by us going to see it. I have to tell you that when we went to test drive the boat we were a little bit heavy (about 1200 lb) between the 5 of us on the boat and it took the boat for ever to plane even when 4 of us were by the bow. For ever. Once I got the boat to plane, I had to run it at probably 5500 rpm in order to keep it on plane. But it's a very functional fishing boat.
