What is the acceptable level of lower unit noise when coming out of neutral ? Had idle increased to prevent stalling
and this has gone up . Never thought much of it but a friend thought it was too high and I'm damaging the gears . I get into gear quickly and it's more of a thump than a crunch . Thanks and stay safe . Larry

you need to repair your motor...if you had to idle up to prevent stalling you have an issue that needs to be fixed..or you may damage more than just your gear case (which aint cheap either)

Thanks . Still under warranty , was worked on by a certified dealer . Have already had the block replaced . This is not what I paid big money for . Larry

Thanks for the comebacks . Very surprising . What recourse do I have ? The boat is sitting in the water and I don't want to pull it and lose another month fishing . I offerred to bring it in last fall and was told to wait till March . All they did it appears to me was crank the idle up to 1300 rpms so I wouldn't stall but were unconcerned about the consequences . I don't want this type of workmanship done again . Two dealers have dealt with this 4 times and can't get it right . Any chance of a factory person coming to the boat ? I've read where this can be a complicated issue involving the lower unit being adjusted . I'm minimally mechanically inclined and don't know the details and wouldn't think to attempt to explain it let alone go in there . Appreciate any feedback . My main issue is stalling on acceleration . Larry

You may want to read some of the other threads of the stalling F150 to see what they came up with.

This only happens after starting up . If I've been running and go to neutral then accelerate it's fine . Thanks .

Might try getting in touch with Rodbolt to see what he says, but you need to give the model # and explain everything up front what is going on and has been done
