Has anyone seen an ez-steer bracket for an electric trolling motor? I am trying to think of a way to do this. My Minn Kota's shaft is approximately 1.25" (looked to be 28mm's or 1.15"). I googled for a long time and didn't find anything that was worth spending money on. I think the X-Clamp by Rugged Ridge was close but again, not worth spending the money on if it didn't work. I am thinking maybe I should make a wood bracket something similar to this;EZ Steer Bracket.png
Pardon the crude drawing.

I searched bicycle clamps with little success.
I tried google searching iboats forums for something.
I also considered the folbe railing clamps but they seem to be for 1" railings.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

(Hopefully I'm in the appropriate forum section)

It's amazing how unproductive searching by phone is. I found this in about 10 minutes and it might just be the ticket.

If anyone has seen other options or has ideas I'd love to get them. I am hoping to buy install and try it out this weekend.

Pusher, I would love to try and help. But honestly I don't exactly know what you are looking for. I guess my brain isn't understand what you are trying to find and why. :noidea:

Are you looking for something that would bolt on your present Trolling Motor handle to allow you to add a longer handle to?

Not quite. I have the handle extension for the backwater sloughs. An EzSteer bracket is an adjustable rod that connects the main and kicker motor together using quick connect air hose fittings which allows you to steer both motors from the helm in unison.

The kit is like $250.

The catch is that they don't make a quick connect bracket that mounts to the electric trolling motor shafts.

I guilted myself into the X-Clamp and will post a pic if successful. Suggestions are still welcome! This may be a failure :)

Well the X-Clamp arrived and I am mostly finished with the first round fitting. I have to make a hardware run tomorrow after work. Here's what I have so far.

As a result of all this adjusting I realized I need to adjust my steering arm on the main to get it center on the boat. I guess I should have counted the steering wheel rotations and reversed half of the turns back to see if the motor was pointed straight. Lesson learned

Looks like a good setup to me. Just make certain when you turn to the max to either side, that the props don't interferes with the other or the casings. If they clear, no problems.

Thanks GM, I kept your advice in mind while fabing up the aluminum plate.
I have finished and am quite happy with the $45 product. I'll hopefully test it out this weekend, but the Missus fractured her knee cap in a moment of haste so we'll see.
