I have a '97 EZ Loader with their torsion axle. The actual torsion pieces on both sides are looking pretty rough with rust. What is the life expectancy for a torsion axle under normal use with normal care in saltwater?

thanks
It all depends on what "normal use & normal care" is to you. Those pieces are made from cast steel and are gonna rust no matter what if you put them in saltwater. I might suggest that you remove the tire/wheels and wire brush the offending spots and coat them liberally with rustoleum or the liquid tar waterproofer from Home Creepo this is something that should help out in the long term life of the axle. The life of the axle is a hard thing to predict as there are way to many variables but with maintenance I don't see why they shouldn't last till the rubber inide the tube itself dryrots or crumbles from the salt.
Maybe 10yrs maybe 5.I know thats not really what you wanted to read but I have seen them on "cargo" type trailers over 15yrs old.
