1. Does anyone know if a 1987 Crusader 454 would use an internal or external resistor coil?
2. If external, any clue where I might find the external resistor?
3. If I were to install an internal resistor coil and there also happens to be an external resistor some where in the circuit, what would happen?
This is on a 1987 Trojan International 10 Meter. The points have been removed years ago and replaced with electronic points. The previous coil developed a nice crack in the tower and it was arcing all over the place. I installed a new internal resisitor coil and the engine starts right up and runs but I'm still not sure I have the right coil in place?
