I currently have a 1988 Wellcraft cc on my trailer. The tongue [don't know what the main bar is called] of the trailer can be extended {pulled out from a sleve] and rebolted. The crank arm is bolted on, so it can be moved also. It will extend almost 4ft. Single axel, seemes to be heavy suspension. What would the largest cc boat to fit? Is the back of the boat supposed to fit about 8in. from the back rollers? Or hang off the end of the trailor more? The trailer is a "shorelander"

Re: Extending the trailer

It sounds like you have an extension for launching on shallow ramps. I've never heard of a trailer with an adjustable tongue for different boat lengths. They may exist but I've just never seen one. If you use it that way the axle may need relocation to make the tongue weight correct. But anyway, the stern of your boat needs to be supported close to the back or the boat will "hog"...it bends down over time. It really depends on boat construction but most boats can handle an 8" trailer overhang without problems.

Your transom should rest on the rear roller or rear end of bunks, Dead Eye. If it hangs over you risk putting a hook in your hull.

I agree with BillP on the tongue extension purpose.

Good luck. :)
