Has anyone had any experience with these hitches, especially with Pontoon boats?

Re: Extend-a-Hitch

I have only seen these extenders used on pick up trucks with Campers in the box of the truck.
The extender plugs into the weight platform hitch below the trucks rear bumper and then extends past the back of the camper that hangs out from the box of the truck.

It only extended about 12 to 16 inches.
It really cut down on what the truck could tow from 10,000 # on the hitch to 3500 # on the extender with a lower hitch weight but that would depend on the instructions that come with what you purchase AND the weight of your pontoon boat.

Mike.

Re: Extend-a-Hitch

Reece makes one to about 18". Be very carefull because the longer hitch will unload the front wheels. I would not tow with one, but I use one on shallow ramps. I install and use one only at the ramp.
Mike
