I have a 1985 Evinrude 150 XP E150STLCOS that needs a complete rebuild(GOT MOTOR FREE). I have it in pieces right now and it will need bored on at least 1 cylinders probably to .030. I do not currently have any money into the powerhead. I have found a rebuilt powerhead locally that I could purchase for $1,200. Compression is 100psi all cylinders. My question is should I continue on with my rebuild knowing that when I am done I will have, basically, a new powerhead and I will be around the $1,200 mark when I am finished or do I go with the powerhead that is already rebuilt. I don't know if it has been bored, what was replaced during the rebuild, etc. All I know, and the guy selling it, is that it has good compression and runs well. Thanks for the advice in advance.
