exhaust shutter part number

I have a 1984 MCM260 with 3" through hull exhaust. The shutters look pretty ragged, probably original. The manual shows the assembly and gives a replacement procedure, but doesn't give a part number. A quick iboats parts search reveals several to choose from. How do I know which one I need?

Engine & drive Serial Numbers and give them a call.

I've been all over the Mercruiser web site and can't find any technical support phone numbers. If they are there, they're not well advertised. Anyone know what number I need to call?

Sorry I wasn't clear. I was speaking of calling iboats or other after market supplier, not Mercruiser.

Call iboats with the proper serial numbers....

Or, call any Mercruiser dealer and they can get you the right part numbers and pricing...then you can shop around if you want.

I'm not too sure how important it is that those are OEM replacements.

SN 6685266. I called iboats but all they stock are the flappers for the Y pipe. Since mine is thru hull they can't help me. I called Sierra directly and they don't provide a thru hull shutter. SURELY someone has replaced a shutter on a 3" thru hull exhaust before. The shutter is installed inside the exhaust flange just before the exit flapper. Easy enough to get to and replace, if I could find the part.
