Hi there folks,

I am in the process of removing a cracked exhaust manifold and sure enough it's not as easy as I hoped for.
As shown in the attached pictures the black exhaust pipe is blocking the rear manifold bolt, I know I read about doubling up the nuts tight enough to loosen the bolt from the engine block but it seems to me there is not enough clearance for the bolt to completely unscrew and allow the manifold to tilt upwards.
There has got to be a way to do this minus engine removal.....

Ayuh,..... Ya only need 'bout 1/2", maybe 3/4", to unscrew the stud from the head, then the stud stays with the manifold til it clears,....

I just measured and I barely have 1/2" clearance. I suppose I could grind the stud back. I would have to source some nuts (3/8 24nf) that are less thick then the ones that came off as well.

Okay the (narrow) double nuts and the less then 1/2" clearance was enough to get it out. Thanks guys :peace:
