Exhaust Manifold Bolts Torque Specs

I am about to install new exhaust manifolds and risers on my 302 inboard. Can anyone help me with bolt torque specs?? :confused:

Manifold to cylinder head, I believe that would be 26 ft.lbs...<br /><br />As for torque for the riser to manifold, no clue.. I'd guestimate somewhere in the neighborhood of 20ft.lbs.

To be general, hand tool snug is what we are after.<br /><br />To be more specific, stick to watching what kind of bolt you are using on your manifolds and risers.<br /><br />Assuming grade 5 bolts:<br /><br />If you are using 3/8" bolts or studs torque 30-35 foot pounds.<br /><br />If you are using 5/16" bolts or studs 20-25 is sufficient.<br /><br />For longer bolts and studs, say 6 inches or more, use the lower side of the range, but recheck its torque two or three times until it sets over a period of days.<br /><br />Always retorque your riser after it has been warmed up on its initial run.<br /><br />Check your torque more often with stainless studs and bolts.
