Exhaust gasket or head gasket?

My '05 4.3 Alpha one has an exhaust leak. It might be from when I had to remove the exhaust manifold when I had to lube my starter connectors. Would an exhaust leak on these cause a rough idle? Or would it be a head gasket? How can I check where the leak is coming from? Are there any simple tricks on these babies?

I overheated this motor, up to about 220 degrees. When it got there I shut it right down. Not sure if I blew a head gasket, but it's possible. I just need a quick way to check it. Compression check? or something else?

Did you Clean the surfaces,+ use a new Gasket,..??

Nope,......

But,.....
It would be Loud,+ it'll introduce Fire into the motor box,....
Which could lead to Alot of Smoke......
