Well, the ole' '69 fired right up after a little massaging of the points and fuel pump.......then the S... hit the fan!..........The exhaust bellows blew up in a few minutes of run time............
After removing the OLD (1969) lower unit, ...I dug out and flushed out a very hairy nest of some sort and the exhaust can now flow .
That being said.......This is an old MR? and I want to pull the bell housing.......
There is a pin or something at 90 degrees to the pivot point of the hinge pin.It looks like it was driven in to lock the pivot(hinge pin) screw.???? and the pivot screw itself has a very small allen socket............not at all like the 16 point of later models.
The Clymer manual only has a note about using a slide hammer to remove "earlier model" pins.
Does anyone have insight to the hinge pin removal??.
