Excessive Smoke or Oil Burning - Yamaha Wave Venture

I have a 1996 1100 Wave Venture and also a 1995 700 wave Venture

The 1100 uses far more oil and smokes a lot. Looks like I need to cut back the amount of oil injection. How can I do that?

jeff i think youre thinking the 1200 oil pump. the 1100 oil pumps are not adjustable at least my raider wasnt adjustable in any way.
the 1100s tend to be smokers because the oil pumps dump a lot of oil and the oil is introduced at the air box and a lot of it tends to sit in the air box and screens. The only thing you can do is live with it or switch to premix
When i switched to premix on mine it smoked less but it still smoked.

I have a 96' Waveventure 1100, and from what I read, everything Rob says is true, Yeah, mine smokes like a banshee too, but being as it's not metered as well as the newer ski's, that's the nature of the beast.

so the cable going to the pump has NO adjustment???

Jeff there is no cable going to the pump on the older 1100s. Youre thinking the 1200s GP series
