I saw some oil dripping, slowly, out of my air intake. I pulled the baffle and there was oil on the surface and some slight pooling on the carb intakes.

This is a Yammy ProV150 ('89) with oil injection,
and the oil looked like just oil, not oil/gas mix.

It appears to be most pronounces at the lowest of the three carbs.

Is this a problem? I checked the reed valves recently and they seemed fine.

I'm still looking for a power problem I've been having. It starts readily and usually idles smoothly when cold. After a short run idle is rough and it often stalls.

When running at speed it is sometimes low power, some times ok. Sometimes when at WOT and experiencing low power it will surge forward and I'll see about a 600-1000 increase in RPM.

It needs decarbing, probably a carb overhaul, and maybe a fuel pump (I replaced one that was cracked last year, but didn't service/replace the other one).

I checked with a induction LED and all cyclinders had spark during the rough idle. I didn't try to arc the wires or pull them, just check the LED. Is that enough? Have I rulled out the spark?

I have replaced the spark plugs before, and will again after the decarb, but that didn't solve the problem. I have heard people having problems with NGK plugs, even new. Is that still the case? Is there a another brand for the ProV150 (wants NGK B8HS-10s at 0.040)? My book doesn't show a cross reference for that motor.

Thanks!
Brian Atkins
