What can cause excessive blow-by? Would a small puddly of oil on the manifold underneath the Flame retarder be considered excessive? Do I need to be concerned with this condition?

Re: Excessive Blow-by

I wouldn't be too concerned with it a some oily blow by is normal, some engines do it more than others expectialy older motors even in good shape.

Worn rings is the most common cause for excessive blow by. If the motor runs well i wouldn't do thing.

dont; you might want to clean your FR and the manafold.
then keep a close eye on it and get some idea of how long it takes to build up.

that is if you havent all ready??
