Can someone with this motor please take a pic of the linkages. What I am really needing is pics of the shift linkage at the PH. I'd like to see how it looks in nuetral, forward and reverse if possible. I can't seem to get mine hooked up and working correctly.

I'm not sure how much it matters, but mine is an 86 model.

Thanks!!

Brian,
I have an '89 E150XP; I'll try to upload some shots-- let me know if they are what you are trying to see. I'll try to upload in sequence forward, neutral, reverse-- but will let you know if they have posted differently.

All this time and still no service manual - I am impressed!

Ok ezeke here it comes ...... first I gotta make the popcorn.

With the replacement of a gearcase on a 150 HP outboard costing around $2700,and rebuilding probably around $1500,or so ...

Why try doing it by looking at posted pictures?

The manual will detail the whole thing.

I've always let parts customers read my manuals for free.Maybe I should charge more and send pictures.Or just say this ...buy the manual. And I mean a real one.It should be available from Ken Cook.

I think Brian has both the factory manual and the clymer version. Some folks don't relate to manuals well. I give him a lot of credit for working this problem this hard.

Thanks fp!!

For the others, like fp mentions, I do have the manual. In fact I've probably spent close to $200 in manuals. And no, they don't detail this. At least I sure can't find it in any of the two manuals I have or even the parts manual, etc.

The manual stops at the adjustment of the shift rod, then picks back up with the link and sync. Problem is I am right on by the shift rod ajustment, but with that the boat won't shift into reverse. I can't get the adjustments for the link and syn until I get it to shift properly.

Oh and WormBoy, thanks for those pics, they at least let me know I should be close at this point.

I am not up on all of your prior work on this engine. You may already have answered the question, but I will ask anyway, is the shift rod set at the proper height?
