Hi,

I just bought a 120 HP V4 evinrude (supposedly a 1991) serial number is: M or W (unreadable) 1738847
Model number either: Bl or BE and then b2011cca

I went to the Evinrude site(Ken Cook) but I can't find anything that matches my info. Is there anyone who does know what this could or should be?

I need them because I want to find out What sparkplugsand I would like to know how old my engine is.
thanks

1991 120 Evinrudes have the following model numbers...120TLAI, 120TLEI, 120TXEI. Your numbers must be casting numbers or something. Can you post a picture of it? Evinrude graphics change from year to year and somebody might recognize it by the decals and paint.

Yeah those are the numbers I got on the net as well... I'm in France at the moment, but I'll post a picture as soon as I get back home.(is that a possible here?)

The numbers I found where on the part that holds the motor to the transom... is that where to look? or should I look elsewhere for my engine numbers?

The letters CC near the end of the model number may mean that it is a 1988 model. No matter what year, the 120 takes the Champion QL78YC plugs.

The B in front of the model number usually means it was manufactured in OMC's Belgium plant.
