I have a fast twin long-shaft evinrude; need to find HP and YR. Ser. # 15034-04699. also need the tiller for this motor and what ratio of gas/oil mixture I should use. this motor has a button in the lower middle of the front panel where the controls are; wires run up to the flywheel/magneto. Is this the "kill switch"?

Model: 15034
Make: Evinrude
Year: 1961
HP: 18
WOT RPMS: 4500
Displacement: 22.0 cu.in. = 360.5 ccm
Fuel to Oil mix: 24:1 Originally. Read more here.
Sparkplug: Champion J4J (now J4C) gapped at 0.030. Use J6C if your fouling.

That button is the kill switch. It connects those wires together when it's pressed, which kills the spark.

Best luck finding a tiller: Twin City Outboard
Failing that, try to locate an outboard junkyard.

EDIT: It may not be a longshaft. If there's a removable section between the lower unit and the midsection, then it is.
Some of these older OMCs measure around 18" between the bracket and antiventilation plate, since the lower unit has to be submerged further for the waterpump to work.

Good luck!

thanks Paul for that quick response. I'll try that site for the tiller, and use that other info that you sent as well.
