I have just bought a replacement VRO pump to replace my existing one on my Evinrude 70. The original pump has no warning circuit on the pump, whereas the new one does(5 wires). There is no wiring diagram in the manual I have for the engine, and was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram or could tell me how to connect warning system and pump/level switch. The reason i am reconnecting the VRO is due to the engine 'oiling up'. I am currently running a 50:1 premix and have lots of problems with the engine 'oiling up' after idling or slow running. If i clear the engine out using the hand throttle, then accelerate off all is ok until i let it idle again. I don't want to lean off the premix, for fear of the engine siezing on full throttle runs. Is there somthing else that could be causing these problems? Reading some of the letters here it appears that the VRO has not got a good name for itself, is it as bad as everyone makes out? Any help would be much appreciated!
