I'd probably get a kick outta' watching ... I've got a late 50's Johnson 7 to work on.

I'd be interested in seing it, but I like seing old stuff restored so I may not be the right person to ask.

Yep, a tear down, paint prep, reassembly w new (?) parts where necessary, and re-paint of a 50s OB would be great.

If you need fodder for the rehab mill, I know where ya could get 1 or 12 from the 50s that all need various levels of attention.... Heck, I'd even buy the parts :facepalm:

It would be great to see the rebuild in action, one day I will be re doing an old sea gull the neighbour gave me.

Had one......if I remember correctly the fuel mix was a quart of motor oil to six gallons of gas!

No such animal as a V-twin Evinrude. Did you mean Big Twin? They were an inline motor. Evinrude and Johnson did come out with the first commercially available V-4 in 1958, but no V-twins...

In the late 70's I bought a mint condition V Johnson for a big patio boat I had just purchased. What a gas hog that was. I ended up replacing in with a longer shaft 90 hp Evinrude. That motor comparatively sipped gas.
