evinrude service manual

i was wondering if anyone knows how similar the 68' 5hp evinrude and the 6hp 68' are? I have a 6hp, but can get a 5hp service manual for $4. If it is similar enough, it would be a great deal for four bucks. thanks

My Seloc manual indicates no differences in tolerances, adjustment and service procedures, other than the LU is a no shift on the 5, and the 6 makes it's power at 4500 RPM rather than the 5's 4000.<br /><br />So the LU is quite different, but the powerhead appears to be near identical.<br /><br />I hope this helps!

thanks for the help. I went ahead and got a 6hp manual for 12 bucks off ebay. figured it would be worth it to have the right one and not chance it.
