Hello, My name is Mike. I located what I beleive to be an older 70 Evinrude on an old Tri-Hull and thought I might try and purchase it. The Model # 70573 Serial# J0007075 that I wrote down, don"t seem to tell me anything. Please can someone ID this outboard for me?
This guy also has an old 50 horse Mercury Lighting Outboard which has a pull start handle on it. I looked for ID numbers, But found none. This is attached to a 10 Foot Fiberglass 2 seat boat with cable steering The engine cover looks to be in good shape and the props turn on both of these motors. I might buy the whole bunch just for trading materials????
Thanks in advance for help with these questions.

Re: Evinrude Outboard I.D.

Now that I know this is a 1975 70HP Rudey[Thanks to DAVIET] how dependable and is this a good motor for my 1962 Duratech Neptune? I would like to add tilt and trim to the motor as this makes for a much more controlable boat. Does anyone know which years will fit this motor for the tilt and trim controls? I know the guy will sell the old boat, motor and trailer fairly cheap as he has no use for it. I did a quick visual inspection the lower coil is corroded a little, the steering cable seems to be locked-up, however the motor was locked in the upright position, I couldn't get the steering to move, all the cables look to be in good shape. the controls work forward and reverse and the throttle seems to move. The windshield should adapt to the Neptune. Like I said this will be a donor boat. Various cleats and navi lights are in good shape.
Any thoughts or ideas or experences would be helpful
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
