Evinrude model and serial #'s

I purchased this today at a yard sale and can't find a serial number on it or a model number nowhere. am i looking in the wrong place. the best ican describe it is blu lower half with a off white fiberglass hood. any help much appreciated. thx

Some of those motors will have the model number stamped into the little metal discs (freeze plugs)on the engine block

The numbers on the freeze plug read 4006E E07408 THX AGAIN Joe

Model ID:<br /><br />For Johnson and Evinrude outboards, check the following locations: <br /><br />-the stern mounting bracket <br />-the freeze plug <br />-the flywheel <br />-the side of the cylinder assembly <br /><br />Hope this helps......
