My 92 model 70 hp evinrude has a miss from idle to about 2200 rpm. Most severe at 1700 rpm. Just had the carbs cleaned but they may be set a little rich. Replaced plugs but not much better. After 2200 rpm the motor runs perfect. The plugs seem a little wet after running but not sloppy.

Re: Evinrude Miss

Have you done a compression test on the motor? If you have, find out which cylinder isn't firing by removing the plug wires one at a time to see which one doesn't make a difference to the engine. If you find one that doesn't make a difference make sure it is firing. You should get a strong blue spark. If the cylinder is firing good, you may have a carb problem.

Compression was good at 125,125,126. The plugs were wet with gas/oil not water. I will check the slow speed valve next. I am afraid i may lean it out too much though...
