Evinrude Identification

Hello guys. I have got an evinrude 115 motor that Im not sure what year model it is. I believe it to be a 1982, but not positive. Can anyone help?? Here are the numbers. M#F115TLCTE S#JO282534. Also, can anyone tell me what year models are about the same. Im looking for a trim system and would like to know what models would fit. Thanks in advance.

Gee, thanks, DHadley.<br /><br />The code is in the first two of the last three letters, in your case, CT.<br /><br />Use the letters in the word, INTRODUCES, to represent the numbers 1 through 0.<br /><br />C is the 8th letter and T is the third letter, so CT = 83

Hmmm. I would have never seen that one coming. I can see that you definitely know what your talking about. If not, you sure do know how to act. Lol. Thanks a lot. I have learned something new today.

E and J used that since 1980. Before that is was a bit different for each make.<br /><br />Congrats on having a newer motor than you thought!<br /><br />Good luck!
