Evinrude I.D. Tag

Hi, I have a old Evinrude from around the mid fifties but i can't find where the I.D. tag is so i can pinpoint the exact year. This motor is a 10 HP and has sporttwin on the cover. It also has a Plastic Emblem on it that says Golden jubilee. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks again Dave

Went to google.com and searched for Evinrude Golden Jubilee. All the hits said 1958 or 59. Good luck<br /><br />Liam

Thanks for your help! I just rechecked the motor and i can't even find a place where the tag looks like it USED to be. You would think that even if the tag was missing the outline of where it was would show up or even rivet holes but nothing. This motor was never repainted so i must not be looking in the right place

Look on top of engine behind flywheel for round plug that looks like freeze/welch plug<br />on auto engine.

Thanks guys, i found where the tag "used" to be. Thankfully, Mr. Evinrude was kind enough to put the number on the freeze plug, right where you said it would be. Now i can get the parts (I hope) to get this baby up and running. If there is anything i can ever do for you, feel free to ask. Thanks again, Dave
