I just recently bought a 6 hp mid 80's Evinrude two stroke motor. It runs pretty well except that it takes several pulls to start the thing and once it starts it doesn't idle. You have to give the engine gas with the tiller and then keep the rpms up to have it not die. Could this be fixed by adjusting the carb? There is also a fuel mixtor that on the engine that allows you to lean it out or richen it. Would this make a difference? Any help would be appreciated.
