This carb flooding problem I can't find the problem. Model #115793B the carbs were flooding out the front of the throats. I rebuilt them everything was clean as whistle, I soaked them and ran gum cutter thru them and commpressed air and installed new rebuild kits adjusted the floats. Put the assembly back on motor, the fuel bulb pumped up hard it didn't before. Hit the key it fired right up and flooded in the same manner. Any clues? I also have a set of carbs of my blown 74 85 hp that were rebuilt and work correctly, will they work on the 77 115hp?

Sounds like if the carbs are good, that fuel is because the reeds are goin' south. Do a search on "reed valves" and you'll see just how to check em.
Good luck

Did it die from flooding? that was your problem before, as fuel was flowing out the carb throats. You rebuilt the carbs, pumping the bulb fills the carbs without flooding. but still will not run. Where were you on a compression, and ign. test?

The fuel is pouring out the front, before it floods it fires right-up and as soon as it starts flooding it dies...........

Is it just one carb or both flooding?
A flooding carb has to related to the floats. Did you replace the needle and seat both?
Your 85 hp carbs will work on a 115 hp, or viceverse.

It was both carbs. yes I replaced the needle and seats and put that wire clip too. I going to pull the 85 carbs off and install them. I picked up this motor locally for 200. the compression was from 122 to 131psi it was not been run for 4 years the few seconds it ran the exshaut sounded crispy good. It fired up on the first turn. I think this motor will run nice once I get this fixed......and thanks for the help........

I put the carbs on today and the motor started right up and runs well. I need to idle it down it running at about 1500 rpm what is the correct way to do this.

The boat needs to be in the water to set the idle due to the backpressure on the exhaust that is created. Put it in gear and set the idle at 650.
