Re: evinrude Bombardier pulse pack

I apparently jumped the gun,

While they do seem to share a majority of components, the 71' 100s have a breaker set up and an amplifier, not the sensor/pulse pack like the 69-72 115/125, according to this thread they aren't interchangeable.

I think the differences between the two arise in how they are powered but this is pure speculation on my part. My lack of electrical knowledge about the differences between amplifiers and pulse packs leads me to think it could be wired to work, but it may just burn things up in trying.

Hopefully one of the gurus will chime in set me straight.

I'm still electrically dumb but have been thinking about this as I putter around, I think it might be that the pulse pack fires when it receives burst of electricity as a signal and an amplifier fires when there is a gap in electricity for a signal. So they operate on the exact opposite principal and thus the incompatibility.

Once again maybe the gurus will set me straight.

PM me with your email address and I'll send you the wiring diagram for that 1971 100hp Evinrude. Jog my memory for what you need. (Joe)
