evinrude/bombardier 175hp vindicator 2006

I was offered a pretty good deal on this motor,,,

I must say I have been skeptical on all the DFI Evinrude engines from the previous years 1999 to 2002.
Friend of mine got a few of these from a military auction some never been in saltwater,all these motors are gray in color and were used and some either coast guard or military exercises.
My question has anyone on the board ever used these engines with good results.

Only a good deal if less than 1K and runs and has controls...Be careful as some of these Milsurplus are damaged goods. I had a dealer that bought 1/2 a 50ft trailer of surplus motors and nearly half were locked up,parts robbed or blown up
