Evinrude and Johnson Wiring Harness/Controls The Same?

Just wanted to double check but do johnson and evinrude use the same wiring harness? My boat has a 1997 130hp evinrude but its seized, I'm looking at a 1998 140hp johnson and want to make sure they'll work.

Controls with big red plug all work the same.

Agree, with the exception that not all red plug control boxes have a power trim switch in the handle of the control lever..

Either way it will be fine but aren't you Deutch connectors by 97?
