I have a dumb question. Do the air silencers have any type of air filter in them? For that mater do they have any air filter at all? Mine does not.

Thanks

What do you need an air filter for? Is there dust on the lake where you're at? hehe
The silencer and its cover simply do just that. Quiet the rushing air sound caused by the air being rapidly pulled into the intake...

Re: Evinrude air silencer

i thought about that a while back and figured the only thing that could cause harm going through the carb, would be something that could get stuckm in a reed valve....the little passages that we worry about in the carb are all fuel passages..the air just rush right through the throttle body...I figure a few wasps have made their way into an outboard combustion chamber!!

i used to worry about the foam that deteriorates off the inside of the cover...

getting into the carbs...

dont really any more
