Hi, went to lake george with the family and my brother-in-laws engine would not start.
He just got the boat and engine and had it running. But apparently a mouse got into the engine cowling and made a home in the air intake ripping the insulation out of one side of the cowling. They pulled the plugs and they were full of gook. Then cleaned them and still no start. We have spark and we can smell fuel.
I told him we would have to rebuild the carbs and pull the head to clean out the cylinders because it is obvious that insulation made it in there. What else should I think of doing? Do we have to tear it down to the block to get everything out? I'm not afraid of doing this since I have successfully rebuilt a Rude 150 before, but I'd rather not.
who knows maybe the mouse is stuck in the air intake of the carb or something d
Mike
