Evinrude 9.9 1975 getting hot

My motor is getting hot and I think that the water pump may not be working. It hasn't been run in about 4 years. I ran it the other day but could not find where the water is ejected from the motor above the water line. It runs great other than that.

Yeah, Josh. You almost certainly need a new impeller in your water pump. It is rubber and can nearly turn to dust in 4 years of dry storage.<br /><br />You can change it yourself with a manual and a few tools, all of which you can buy for less than it would cost you to have someone else do it.<br /><br />Red sky at night.<br />JB
