Got this motor a few weeks ago - good condition.
After an initial tank run I took it for a river run. Ran nicely and did what I need.
Looking things over more carefully, I noticed the prop was a bit loose on the shaft. I pulled the cotter pin and was able to remove the nut with fingers. I looked things over and noticed the Drive Pin is slightly twisted. No spare pin, so i put everything back together and tightened the prop. It now has no slop.
I also installed a prop guard(ring design) at that time.
Now I notice a motor rock side to side while running at lower speeds.
Any Idea if it would be the twisted pin, slight prop bend(can't see a problem) or the Guard?
Prop guard is a 2" wide 1/8" aluminum band secured to the cav. plate and fin.
Is this maybe just prop effect at very low rpm? I noticed while carefully and very slowly maneuvering Rocky waters.
Thanks for any help
